Carolyn Corl, Landscape Designer

Born and raised in Pacific Northwest, Carolyn grew up hiking, fishing and skiing in Oregon’s mountains and along its coastline. She remained in the Northwest for her Bachelor’s Degree in Studio Art and History from the University of Puget Sound in 2014. Her love for design and years of experience working in horticulture eventually led her to pursue her Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Oregon, which she earned in 2021. Carolyn spent several years working on design projects of many scales in the Roaring Fork Valley of Colorado before returning to her home landscape of the Pacific Northwest, joining Fazio Associates in spring of 2024.  Her design work is committed to bringing the beauty and the ecological benefits of natural systems into built environments at any scale. She is passionate about design that doesn’t stop at being accessible, but is inclusive, both physically and culturally, in the space that it creates. Outside of the office Carolyn can be found bird-watching, seeing live music, identifying plants for anyone who will listen and making tiny watercolor paintings.
